Project of Information and Communication to users for the good energetic behaviour of homes
NUEVAS VÍAS DE INVESTIGACIÓN Y APLICACIÓN LIGADAS AL COMPORTAMIENTO AMBIENTAL Y ENERGÉTICO DE LOS EDIFICIOS
NEW RESEARCH AND APPLICATION ROUTES LINKED TO THE ENVIRONMENTAL AND ENERGY BEHAVIOR OF BUILDINGS
New information and communication technologies are a tool, at the service of knowledge, to analyze in-depth the consumption of a building, both energy and resources, with the aim of optimizing the needs of use and at the same time studying the results that help advance the path to sustainability.
The decision to lead architecture towards these new paradigms responds to the perception of the demands and potentialities that appear in the framework of the awareness of our resources. Deepening the behaviour of our buildings allows us to continue to improve the project so that the architecture adapts to the environment in which it was built and adjusts throughout its lifespan.
Simulation and monitoring tools are now being used to report on the outcome of our actions as architects.
DESCRIPTION OF ENVIRONMENTAL CRITERIA IN PROJECT
The buildings arise from the impulse to incorporate parameters of environmental sustainability in the properly architectural aspects:
- Cross ventilation.
- Sun protection.
- Intermediate spaces.
- Industrialized systems.
- Landscaped roofs.
- Solar panels.
- Centralized air conditioning systems.
- Water management.
- Waste Management.
DESCRIPTION OF NEW WAYS OF KNOWLEDGE AND IMPLEMENTATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL CRITERIA
The joint impetus of the promoters and architects to monitor beyond the completion of the work, made it possible to promote a European research project Scholarship.
The BECA project was based on monitoring the consumption of buildings over a period of 3 years:
- Electricity, gas, heating and water were monitored in a large number of homes in order to assess the user’s awareness of their consumption and analyze the influence that their knowledge has on the efficiency of energy and resources.
- A centralized system receives continuous information on consumption per home, through LCD screens, with basic information on consumption
- Access to energy “training” by the building management company, which aims to encourage and promote good behaviour and responsible energy and water consumption.
