Situation

General information

Located in northeastern China, next to the sea, the city of Yantai is the center of a mainly agricultural region.

The site is located on the edge of the sea, forming part of an extensive expansion in the new part of the city and bordered by other residential developments and facilities.

The dimensions of the building, as well as the program it houses, were destined to constitute an urban landmark and a concentration pole in the midst of the rather dispersed context in which it was located.

It is a hotel with 400 rooms capable of taking advantage of the proximity to the sea and its beaches. The establishment also has a multifunctional convention center and an extensive catering program.

Interiors

The building is made up of a tall body that mainly houses the rooms and a four-story base, spread out like petals, which are colonized by the rest of the collective program, both inside and on the terraces of its roofs.

A central patio is capable of relating the whole. This great interior void is in turn a buffer space between the climatic conditions outside and the comfort requirements of the different functional rooms. Thus, it is designed to act bioclimatically as a pre-climatizer of the complex, involving solar radiation, air flows and the inertial temperature of the ground.
